Job Description:
We are looking for line cooks to join the opening team at Bar
Siesta. A small Spanish-Californian tapas and wine bar opening in
Silver Lake in late November. We are a tightly knit team of
industry veterans with a love of excellent hospitality, exceptional
food and natural wine. A menu of creative, rustic-yet-refined,
Spanish-inspired cooking.
Essential qualities include:
* A high degree of organization
* Comfort working a station in a fast-paced service
* Enthusiasm for a small, tight team
* An optimistic, can-do attitude
Prior experience on the line is preferred. We source exceptional
products from local producers, as well as from Spain. An obsession
with quality, a deep respect for ingredients, and an interest in
European cooking and philosophy are requisites.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Working closely with Bar Siesta's Chef and Sous to ensure all
food preparation and execution is done consistently and
efficiently
* Leading the team through multiple services per week as the BOH
manager on duty
* Demonstrating excellent line work ethic, knife skills,
cleanliness, and a professional attitude
* Exhibiting stellar organizational habits pertaining to all areas
of the kitchen and storage
Physical requirements include:
* Physical stamina to carry up to 50lbs, organize prep, service and
storage areas, and maintain an energized presence in the kitchen
during multiple hours of service.
